POSTPRODUCTION DIALOG Are we in the era of postproduction, in which, as Nicolas Bourriaud says, ideas concerning originality and creative processes "...are slowly blurred (...) marked by the twin figures of the DJ and the programmer, both of whom have the task of selecting cultural objects and inserting them into new contexts."
Using existing works of art or cultural objects as a source for further cultural production and reflection has been observed in the arts in the European and US cultural context for some time. This phenomenon extends to music, film, theatre and, naturally, visual art.
Four Berlin artists invite four American artists to exchange thoughts regarding this phenomenon and to present art created "starting from art" (Eva Sturm) at arttransponder. Work by Tamara Albaitis, Miru Kim, Millette Tapiador (USA), Constanze Eckert, Tatjana Fell, Anna Zosik and Lisa Glauer (Berlin) is on view.

Central to Dörte Meyers work exhibited here are 150 objects washed ashore by the sea. The artist approaches these objects and examines their different attributes in several different stages.
In order to make the transformation of the objects and their consequential loss of functionality visible, the artist moves within in the periphery of scientific work. The viewer is shown the found objects, investigated and arranged, within a three step system of categorization and archiving Meyer developed and describes as a “conceptual artistic-technical viewing”.
Some of the objects are inspected more carefully with the help of different mechanical means, such as the microscope and x-ray images, while sediment and traces make the seas taking in of the objects visible as a symbiotic relationship.
Ordered as rayogrammes on light boxes, the objects undergo a reinterpretation of their original intention. The individual objects with their loss of function are reanimated as activists of a game of planning.
Taken out and forced onto a neutral field they broach questions regarding the construction of possible spaces for activity and the attributions of identity, reference systems and categories connected to this.
Relikte III is part of a cycle that Dörte Meyer began working on during her DAAD grant sojourn in Italy in 1997.

The exhibition "The Missing Link- Art meets Biomedicine" is a collaboration of the University of the Arts and the Charite Berlin, on view from July through October 2005 in the Museum of Medical History of the Charite, Berlin.
Art and natural science are usually conceived of as opposites: the exact science serve as sources of calculable and certain truth while art is typically viewed as the emotional-moral antipode.
In this exhibition however, such conceptions are tested in an open debate intend upon discovering not only ponts of opposition but also unexpected commonalities, and above all intent to inspire experiments of common work among and between different epistemic perspectives.
The collaborators on the "artside" are artists whose work engages scientific themes. The participating scientists work in fields where research results often take pictoral form, eg. in genetics, brain research and neonatology. As such the exhibit fosters a living dialogue between art and science.
artTransponder e.V. supports the elaboration of a corollary art mediation/education program taking place during the exhibition. Following the exhibition, a publication documenting the project will be produced in collaboration with the Charite, Berlin.
Referring directly to the specific focal point of the exhibition, Anne Faeser, Lisa Glauer and Käthe Wenzel developed possibilities for art mediation/education by engaging in a dialogue with participating exhibitors.
Group tours for all those generally interested as well those with special interests and needs, such as medical students, senior citizens, students, artists and others are offered.
